What dance styles to you teach?
- Principally, ballet, tap, theatrecraft and modern jazz. Please see the What do you teach? page for a more comprehensive answer.
My child is x years old and has never danced before. Can he/she join?
- Of course. It's never too late. Please give us a call to discuss their options.
When are your lessons?
- The main group lessons for Chorlton classes take place on Saturdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Give us a call and we'll be able to advise you on the most appropriate class for your child and what time it takes place.
- We also teach private lessons which can be arranged for a time that suits you.
How much is it going to cost me?
- Weekly lesson fees begin at £5 and vary slightly depending on which group your child joins. Please call us to discuss fees for private classes.
Where do you teach?
- All classes are based locally in Chorlton town centre. Please get in touch to find out more.
Can we just turn up?
- We'd recommend you make contact in advance to avoid disappointment.
What about exams? Which board are you associated with?
- Our students progress through examinations under the IDTA dance examination board.
Are your lessons just for girls?
- No. Boys are welcome in all classes.
About Miss Ellie - Principal
Miss Ellie (M.A., B.A. (Hons), F.I.D.T.A., A.N.A.T.D.) is an experienced and professionally qualified dance teacher.
Miss Ellie has spent her life learning the disciplines and skills she now passes on to her students. She is thoroughly familiar with the experience of the learning process from both sides.
As well as her professional qualification as a Fellow of the IDTA, she holds a degree in Dance Teaching and Performance and a master's degree in Dance and Somatic Movement Education.
She has been teaching children's dance classes for over 18 years.
Miss Ellie trained under the renowned Miss Judith Thompson and continues her professional development with IDTA examiner, Miss Emma Turner of South Manchester Dance Academy.
